Over Labor Day weekend, my husband and I stayed for one night at Four Seasons Orlando. His college team was in town for their home opening football game, and since he’s a diehard Florida State fan, he wasn’t going to miss it. I had full intentions of joining him, but some plans changed, so I ended up luxuriating at the hotel that evening instead (100000% fine and preferred by me). I wanted to post a quick recap of everything we did at the hotel because there is *SO* much to offer at this property.
We arrived at the hotel around 1:30 and were able to get an early check in. We dropped our bags in the beautifully renovated Park View Deluxe Suite and were greeted with a delicious cheese and charcuterie spread as well as a dessert decorated with the FSU logo (my husband LOVED this touch). The room is incredible spacious and comfortable; with a living room, dining area, full guest bathroom, king sized bedroom with a large walk-in closet and bathroom, as well as a balcony overlooking the property and a view that grants you a firework show every night. Truly more than we could ask for and it made us second guess our decision to only book a one night stay.
After a quick room tour, we headed down to PB&G for lunch. This is a casual, open air spot by the pools with tasty, fresh options and a full bar. I had a Greek salad and Austin got a poke bowl – both were so good! Once our bellies were full, we decided to hang by the adults only pool until it was time for my husband to freshen up and head to the football game. The attendants at the pool greeted us right away and showed us to two chairs with shade and brought us ice water and rose. Is there anything better?! We relaxed for about an hour and then it was time for me to chauffeur Austin to the football stadium.
Once I returned to the hotel from my drop-off duties, the real luxuriating began. I ordered room service, and the salmon was absolutely to-die-for. Then, I drew a bath in the large free-standing bath tub. I had water, wine and chamomile tea by my side and was even able to watch TV during my soak. My actual idea of heaven. After my bath, I went through my night-time skin care routine, got in my cozy pj’s and it was time for the firework show. I sat on the balcony, which miraculously had a breeze, and watched the sky light up over the Disney parks. So magical! I’m a total early-bird, so I tucked myself in and enjoyed a glorious night of sleep.
The next day, we made sure to make the most out of our 2pm late check-out. I woke up and went to the gym bright and early. It’s a wonderful facility with all of the latest and greatest machines and equipment. After getting a little sweat in, I grabbed us some to-go breakfast from Lickety Split. This cute spot is near the lobby and has ice cream and desserts, as well as grab-and-go provisions and some yummy breakfast foods, like the smoked salmon avocado toast I had.
The natural progression after working out was to go to full on relaxation mode, so Austin and I took to the spa. It’s a huge bonus that you don’t have to have a spa treatment booked in order to use the amenities. Since we were there for such a short time, we weren’t sure we could squeeze in a treatment, so using the steam room and jacuzzi was the next best thing. We also love the relaxation room in between the men’s and women’s locker room. There are beverages, snacks and a fire for maximum coziness.
After relaxation comes the fun. We decided to check out the lazy river! Once again, the pool attendants took care of us right away, this time reserving a cocoon and two chairs with an umbrella. The staff at Four Seasons Orlando really goes above and beyond to always ensure you’re comfortable. We found ourselves some inner tubes and went for a float. It’s a really good time!
It’s hard to believe we were able to squeeze all of this in before our check out time, but we did. If we hadn’t though, they can hold your luggage and encourage you to use the facilities until you’re ready to leave. They even have a departure waiting room you can use to regroup before you head out. We went back to our room one last time to shower and pack up before saying goodbye. And since we really wanted to stretch out our stay, we had one more meal at Plancha. It’s a delicious cuban inspired restaurant at their golf club and only about a 5 minute walk (they can also take you in a golf cart). We shared the enchilada appetizer and I had a delicious salad and margarita while Austin had the birria tacos which he said were some of the best he’s ever had. After lunch, they sent us on our way with bottled waters and our car was ready at the valet.
Austin and I had both stayed at Four Seasons Orlando before. A couple times for work events for him and I’ve been a few times with my sister and nephews. It’s always a wonderful experience but it was especially great to really be able to soak it all up and take full advantage of everything it has to offer, which is a lot! It’s a real treat and I can’t recommend it enough.
